3.3 Three week timetable of Senedd Business

Wednesday 14 June 2023 –
The Llywydd noted that the deadline for the submission of Member Debate motions for 14 June will fall during May half-term recess, in order to accommodate two Member Debates to take place next term.
4 Legislation
4.1 The Infrastructure (Wales) Bill - timetable
Business Committee agreed that the Bill be referred to the Climate Change, Environment, and Infrastructure Committee for consideration of the general principles. The Committee also agreed to defer a decision on the timetable for the Bill in order to consult the CCEI Committee, and return to the matter at a future meeting.
5 Committees
5.1 Letter from the Chair of the Local Government and Housing Committee regarding a request to undertake Committee business in Edinburgh and Barcelona
Business Committee agreed to a request for Members of the Local Government and Housing Committee to leave Plenary early on 7 June in order to undertake Committee business in Edinburgh. The Committee also agreed a request for Mabon ap Gwynfor MS to not attend Plenary on 6 and 7 June due to his attendance at the International Social Housing Festival in Barcelona as part of the Committee’s work into Social Housing Supply.
6 European Engagement
6.1 Correspondence regarding the Congress of the Council of Europe
Business Committee discussed the ongoing matter of the Senedd’s nominations for representatives on the Congress of the Council of Europe. The Committee agreed to return to the matter at the following meeting.
6 Any other business
Darren Millar asked whether further consideration has been given to the organisation of committee and plenary business in light of the impact of Rhys ab Owen MS’s ongoing suspension from the Plaid Cymru Group. The Llywydd indicated that Business Committee would consider this matter further alongside any implications that arise from the Senedd’s consideration of the motion to establish a Senedd Committee during Plenary this afternoon.
